  • The public wishing to visit will enter through the public lobby of the facility with valid identification and the name of the inmate to be visited. NOTE: A photo ID is not required for children under the age of (5) five.
  • Visitors under 18 who wish to visit an incarcerated parent, and who claim that they (the child) are unable to have an adult accompany them. In these instances the Shift Commander will be notified. If the child’s statements prove valid, the Shift Commander will arrange for a visit. No children will be allowed in the lobby/waiting area or visitation room without adult supervision.
  • Maximum of two (2) adults and two (2) children may visit at one time. Shift Commander may make an exception on the amount of adult/children ratio, but never more than four visitors. No visitor may visit more than one inmate each day
  • DRESS CODE: visitors are expected to be fully dressed in appropriate conventional clothing that is not unduly provocative, suggestive or revealing
  • Inmates requesting to receive visits will submit and have, on file, an approved visitors list with a maximum of ten (10) approved visitors.

NEW VISITATION SCHEDULE! (Alternating Weekends)
You will start alternating weekends that correspond with your housing location. The first Weekend will start visits on May the 17th. The second Weekend will start on May the 24th. When the video visitation is installed, this schedule will stop.

Haysi Visitation Schedule

This facility requires appointment by phone or in person prior to visitation day. The times to schedule a visit are Monday-Thursday 8:00AM-4:30PM, and Friday 8:00AM-3:30PM. All other details about visitation will be answered while making appointment.

Tazewell Visitation Schedule

INMATE REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Each inmate signs-up for a time in their specific housing unit.
  2. Sign-up sheets are collected by officers from inmates on Friday morning.
  3. No changes are made after the sign-up sheets are collected unless authorized prior to the beginning of visitation.

Special Visits:
Occasionally inmates have been placed into special housing situations which require segregated visit times. Visits are provided for these inmates after 2:00om and still in the 15 minute time frame.Any other special visit can only be granted through the approval of the Captain or Major of the facility.
