Memorial DonationAbbeville—A mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, September 19, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church with Fr. Donald Bernard and Fr. Louis Richard honoring the life of Nicholas Paul Hollier, 27, who died on Monday, September 12, 2022.
Born on April 2, 1995, Nick, as he was affectionately known to everyone who ever met him, is survived by his parents, Charles Brian Hollier and Elizabeth M. Hollier, sister, Catherine G. Hollier, paternal grandparents John E. “Butch” and Evelyn B. Hollier of Abbeville, Louisiana and maternal grandparents, Lionel J. and Paulette B. Mire from New Iberia, Louisiana. He is also survived by a host of aunts and uncles, cousins and his beloved Golden Labrador named Chief.
Pallbearers will be Jonathan P. Zeringue, Adam Boudreaux, Shane B. Troendle, Aaron David, Clay Leblanc, and Dustin Bertrand.
Visiting hours will be observed from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Vincent Funeral Home – Abbeville at 209 South Saint Charles Street on Sunday, September 18, 2022, with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m. and will resume on Monday, September 19, 2022 from 8:00 a.m. until the procession departs for church.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Christian Service Center, 300 Pere Megret St, Abbeville, La. 70510.

Hollier, one of my favorite Air Force tech school wing man. We marched together, learned about aircraft engines, cooked Cajun food in our down time, hung by the pool, and laughed a lot! You will always bring a smile to my face when I think of those times! Until we meet again my friend, rest easy!

I have been mourning my Dad this week and may not be able to get back to much of the funeral home time for Nick. Nick's soul, your grief and loss and all related matters are in my prayers. CLara and I remember our first day announcing as a couple for public recognition was a t your crawfish boil and of course Nick was a striking, engaging and special young man who was a pleasure to visit with on the few occasions I got to see him in recent years.
We cannot pretend to process all of life's mysterious and profound sorrows. But we can know that we have long ago chosen to believe in the infinite love and mercy of God. We have long ago chosen to accept with humility that we do no understand all things. Therefore, we come to our most difficult moments clinging to these basic aspect of our faith. We prayerfully entrust our hearts, our hurts and the peace of those we love to the God who allowed his Only Begotten Son to die for all of us. When you remember Nick you will be in the presence of that same God. When you feel compassion for your Son's pain then you will also surely be in the presence of an even more compassionate God.I

Liz, Brian and Katherine….I am so sorry for your loss. The last time I spent with Nick was at Christmas a couple of years and he and I hung out on your mom and his grandmother’s swing. We really had a good conversation. He was so sweet. I know he will be missed, but he’s in God’s arms now where there is no more pain for him. My condolences to the family. I had just met Nick 1 month ago when he knocked on my door to provide a roofing quote.
That smile and attitude brought light to me and my wife's day. Low and behold after talking for about 1 min. that voice sounded like a voice i knew. What do we have here i said. Come to find out he was the son of my co-worker and friend Brian. After that day we spoke everyday afterwards. Only known you for a short period my friend, but i will miss you truly.
