Some fans are already looking ahead and are slamming aNetflixseries executive after she revealed this will be the last Bridgerton action for a long two years.

Showrunner Jess Brownell admitted to The Hollywood Reporterthere will be a lengthy wait before viewers get to see another Bridgerton sibling's story pan out.

'And the writing takes a very long time as well, so we're kind of on a two-year pace, we're trying to speed up but somewhere in that range.'

The X, formerly Twitter, account Film Updates shared the news on Wednesday - and fans were not impressed.

Shocked and disappointed viewers quipped: 'Two years is wild.'

'We ain't got such patience. Two years is too long.'

'Why does it take this show so long between seasons? Bigger shows turn s*** around in a year! Get it together Netflix!'

'Sorry but personal opinion here: 2 years to make 8 episodes is WILD. SUE ME.'

'You got shows with more work pumping out seasons yearly this is just embarrassing.'

'All that for it to be eight episodes and split in two parts'; 'WHY?! Movies get made faster.'

'Wild is an understatement. two years per season, for a show based on books, so the story is already mapped out, is egregious.'

'It shouldn't take two years to make eight episodes.'

Despite slamming the wait time, some fans are already speculating who season four could be about - Luke Thompson's character Benedict, Claudie Jessie's Elouise, or Hannah Dodd's Francesca?

Brownell told The Hollywood Reporter that fans of one of the ships are going to be 'very very happy'.

Fans took to social media to speculate: 'It better be Benedict's season or people will literally break into Netflix HQ and start a riot cause ain't no way we're waiting four more years.'

'Praying for an Eloise season four.'

'That show is not gonna make it to Francesca's season.'

The debate comes just as the final four episodes of series three have been released on Netflix - and they includeBridgerton's raciest episode ever.

After being promised the 'steamiest season yet', Bridgerton fans were left somewhat disappointed by the lack of regency romps in part one of season three.

Yet show bosses have more than delivered with part two of the period drama, with episode five of the series featuring a six-minute-long sex scene between Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) and Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton).

The Derry Girls star previously revealed: 'I think we've won the sauciness for this series!' as she detailed the sex scenes.

She teased what fans can expect to see, telling Entertainment Weekly: 'We did break a piece of furniture while doing one scene.

'It's a little bit like a stunt in which they're like, 'Okay, we're gonna do this, this, and this.

'But then they gave us freedom and we had a lot of say in how we did those scenes and what we wanted to do. That makes you feel quite empowered.

'So we felt super. They were actually really enjoyable. I didn't think they would be. It was fun.'
