I enjoyed this restaurant for the first time tonight with my family. Let me set the scene... My brother, sister in law, 3 year old nephew, my mother and myself decided to chance it late. We were all hungry. Yes this restaurant might not be everyone's style but the food is amazing. Love the pelican mural on the left wall when you walk through the door. I enjoyed the red snapper and it was heaven. Mom ate the shrimp portobello and actually ate the entire thing (walk on river and yoga). Brother had the Chicken Point Coupee with a loaded potatoe(seasoned perfectly and not oily or over cooked). Sister in law had the stuffed mushrooms and Caesar salad (low carb kinda). Nephew had the shrimp and fries (not surprised that he ate the shrimp but the fries where thick cut and he munched). The starter bread was ok but I would have added butter which they brought to the table. Everything was nice and the staff was sweet and patience with the nephew.
1. Prepare to eat everything. It leaves you full to the rim before you know it. A walk on the river helped that out for us.
2. This isn't a snotty little place. It's charming, down home, and tons of old character.
3. The staff make great suggestions if you aren't sure what kind of food you're craving.
4. Parking can be on short supply but it's downtown so that's expected.

Best restaurant in the Baton Rouge area, and one of the top in Louisiana. The food is great, as is the atmosphere. It is worth driving thirty minutes to New Roads for the Sunday brunch.

Went there for lunch on a weekday. It was not busy. The service was good and friendly. The food was very good. The Caprese salad could feed four, and the Ma Mama's catfish with crawfish étouffée was excellent. Would drive from Baton Rouge again.

Delicious! Service was satisfactory, friendly staff..prices were a little high but the portions are large and the food was worth every dime! We got oysters trio which were great, spinach artichoke dip was hot and delicious, turtle soup was more like a turtle chili but not bad. I got the avocado salad and that was healthy and fantastic! So overall we will be back!

What a hidden gem!. Heard about this place from a friend as wecwere looking for a road trip dinner location. We were not disappointed! We did have to wait for a clean table but was accommodated by sitting in the small bar area. Once seated, we were not rushed and had ample time to go over the many choices on the menu. We started with the Shrimp Tini and it was better than the "Bang Bang Shrimp" from Bonefish. We had the Italian Salad that was quiet basic but the homemade italian dressing was awesome. Our entrees were piping hot. We both had fish: redfish and trout with crawfish topping. Simply amazing and fresh. We ordered lobster Mac and cheese and it was average. It was a liitle expensive for the portions, but overall it was a great experience. Would recommend and will return.

Best Food in New Roads. If you want good food, where do you go, to Ma Mama's Kitcher of course. This is the place to eat in New Roads. If you want good New Orleans Creole food, Donna has it here.

everytime I come here the food is phenomenal. You can taste the fresh ingredients in every dish you order. I brought an evacuee from Florida to have lunch today and she's never been to Louisiana she really enjoyed herself. She's excited to go home and talk about all the fabulous Foods out our way. It's always a pleasure to eat here and the service is fantastic.

My food was totally delicious. I had the broiled redfish with a baked potato and it was scrumptious. Both the fish and potato were cooked to perfection! The only downside to our visit is that the restaurant is small with tables in close proximity to one another.

I had a surprise birthday party at My Mommas and my family and friends had a wonderful experience. The staff was incredible, our waitress Ashley, was so professional, warm and friendly. The food was exceptional, delicious seafood, gumbo, homemade bread with olive oil and herbs along with tasty wine. We finished the meal with one of Donna's amazing cakes, the almond white cake. We have lots of pictures and I will remember this day because of the food and service my family, friends and I received this afternoon. Thank you Donna and staff.

Rented out the entire restaurant for a Friday night wedding rehearsal dinner. Staff was wonderful, perfect size for 50 guests. Food was tasty - especially the appetizers.
