What are the trigger words for ED-E? ›

There are several keywords that can trigger a message. You do not need to hear them all, there are only 2 enclave recordings. The words are "Navarro", "Enclave", "Poseidon", "Air Focre Base", "Eden", "Helios" and "Archemedies".

If sent to the Brotherhood, E-DE's armor is greatly improved, increasing his DT by 12 and giving him a shiny new coat of armor. If E-DE is sent to the Followers, he will get a significant boost to his Laser Zapper, allowing him to fire faster and do more damage, also giving him a shiny new armor coat.

Quick walkthrough

Find and examine ED-E in the Nash residence in Primm. Talk to Johnson Nash and mention the robot sitting in his store. Repair ED-E with either: A Repair skill of 65, or a Science skill of 55 and a subsequent lowered Repair skill of 35.

In this case, try waiting several days before trying to activate the first message. There has been success receiving the first message after a 10-day wait. Sometimes, if you upgrade ED-E's laser in one save, ED-E may spawn with his upgraded laser in a new save.

Notes. ED-E is one of the few characters to stay marked as essential in Hardcore mode because if he were to die, one would not be able to complete The Courier if they wanted to stop the missile launch.

At the very end, you will get promoted to the rank Sentinel in the Brotherhood of Steel. You also gain a jetpack for your Power Armor. Everyone that is part of the Brotherhood of Steel will also have a great deal of respect for you in their dialogue, as well as appear in various locations like Diamond City!

When you repair E-DE, you take him to the scrapyard and while you talk to old lady Gibson, with E-DE as your companion, it will trigger a message from the robot afterwards, that's part of his questline. It doesn't matter when you do the quest. Every companion you have will have a quest.

Eyebot Duraframe Subject E, also known as ED-E (pronounced "Eddie" or "E-D-E"), is a Duraframe eyebot in the Mojave Wasteland in 2281. Initially found inactive at the Nash residence in Primm, once repaired, it is a possible companion of the Courier in Fallout: New Vegas.

Since those are high skill levels for the beginning of the game, you should try to repair it. The courier will fail, but figure out what parts are needed. You need three pieces of scrap metal, two sensor modules, and one scrap electronics to repair ED-E if your skills are too low.

Brotherhood will enhance his armour. Followers will give him a new weapon. And then there are the changes to the ending stories depending upon who gets him, of course. They both take off the license plate off Ed-e, but only the BoS will make Ed-e shiny.

Sometimes you recruit a follower at the end of a quest, like Boone. Sometimes, you recruit them at the beginning, like ED-E. And sometimes, you might recruit them halfway through a quest, like Cass.

ED-E goes to Primm, Boone goes to Novac, so on. And companions cannot die unless it was you who dealt the kiling blow otherwise they just become unconcious and wake up a few seconds later. Yes they all go back to where you recruited them except Raul who goes to his home east of Vegas.

That's why it's so important to be careful about adding, or forgetting, the 'e' at the end of words. We have some exceptions: love, glove, give, above, oven, cover, have, to live, come, some have short vowel sounds. Why? Because the scholars didn't like words ending in -v so added an end 'e'.
