Devils River State Natural Area
Those looking for a rugged wilderness experience need look no further than Devils River State Natural Area. This 37,000-acre state natural area features rocky limestone canyons and one of the most ecologically intact rivers in Texas. The park is a popular location for hiking, camping, nature viewing, photography, mountain biking, swimming, and fishing. A kayaking trip 47 miles down Devils River to the Lake Amistad National Recreation Area is a great way to see the area, but should only be done by experienced kayakers.

Hiking, camping, paddling, and even scuba diving are popular activities within the recreation area. The Amistad Dam is available to visitors as well and affords a sweeping view of the lake. Val Verde Winery
Visit Val Verde Winery, the oldest continuously operating winery in Texas. The winery was established in 1883 when Italian immigrant Frank Qualia immigrated to Del Rio and found Lenoir grapes thriving in the area.
